Every Bride wants her wedding day to be perfect. From the venue and florals to the dress and shoes. There's a couple secrets to your wedding day running smoothly. One, a good coordinator. Two, a solid timeline.
So how do we make sure to stay on schedule?
First, make sure all of your bridal party is on the same page. I recommend sending each of them the day of timeline along with the hair & makeup schedule in advance.
Let them know how they should show up: clean and dry hair, face free of makeup, and any other important instructions. Southern Tease Brides will receive a Wedding Prep Guide the Monday before their wedding. We recommend forwarding this to the bridal party to let them know how to best prepare for their services- making the most of their experience.
The bridal party showing up on time for hair and makeup services with an idea of what they want is crucial for staying on schedule. Remember, the timeline is an essential to your big day running smoothly, so starting the day behind is not ideal.
Opening gifts and steaming robes/dresses before hair and makeup services begin can help limit distractions and time delays. Plus, when you open gifts during the hair and makeup timeline it pretty much ensures some of your girls miss out on these big moments!
Have your details ready to go and when your photographer and/or coordinator need it, it's best to have your Maid of Honor in the loop on where it is and what they need. Detail photos usually start around the same time as the Bride's hair & makeup so if these things are not in place we can run behind.
How should I show up for my hair & makeup services?
We recommend wearing a button-down or robe.
Clean, dry hair.
No skincare should still be sitting on top of the skin. If you put some on, make sure it's not creating a barrier.
Dermaplaning is a great way to exfoliate & remove unwanted facial hair and peach fuzz.
NO WAXING the week of your event! Waxing can strip the skin and makeup will not adhere the same in those areas.
Lastly, and most importantly, don't stress the small stuff! No matter what, you are getting married!! It is easy to get caught up in all of the planning and details, but don't forget the reason for the celebration!
